Fraud

Insurance fraud is estimated to cost the sector over £1bn annually. Fighting fraud is an extremely tough and increasingly expensive business, with insurers having to decide which cases are challenged to ensure a cost-effective and robust procedure. Major fraud rings are becoming more complex and sophisticated operations – meaning insurers need a tenacious and expert team acting for them.

The vast majority of our work is motor-related. In addition to staged/contrived accidents, bogus passengers, fraudulent claims for vehicle damage, our dedicated team is heavily involved in fighting fraud ring work on behalf of the UK's biggest names including:

  • Admiral Group
  • Amlin
  • Aviva
  • Brit Insurance
  • Chaucer
  • Esure
  • Hastings Direct
  • HSBC

We invest time and resource at the outset to ensure only the right claims are challenged. We are able to recognise weaknesses in cases in order to determine whether a challenge is valid, rather than offering settlements at a much later stage.

Our team is fully conversant in the science and biomechanics of low velocity collisions – leading to a high success rate on LVI cases. We have six full-time intelligent analysts and use i2 software, which enables us to quickly data-mine our extensive case management files to highlight strong evidence of larger scale fraudulent activities. We also have access to a full range of databases including Companies House, DVLA, Experian and CUE.

Our track record proves we are able to bring cases to court as quickly and effectively as possible, and will work as hard as possible to achieve the right result for our insurance clients. The team was also responsible for taking two leading cases (Kearsley v Klarfeld and Casey v Cartwright) to the Court of Appeal, which together changed the face of low impact legislation.
